School Wide Events

Unity’s Family Picnic

Please join us to kick off the new school year! Enjoy a fun-filled evening of bounce houses, lawn games, a photo booth, music and more. Food trucks will be available to purchase delicious food. It is a great night to spend with Unity families. Volunteers are needed for registration and activities on the day of event.

Trunk or Treat

Bring your creativity and best costumes for an evening of Halloween fun! Decorate your car trunk or golf cart in a festive theme and bring plenty of candy to share
with our trick-or-treaters. With food trucks, music and fun, it’s a spook-tacular way for Unity families to celebrate together.

Book Fair

Support a love of reading at Unity School. Assistance needed to decorate and set up books; during fair replenishing shelves and assisting students in choosing books; clean-up after  Bagels for Dads, Grand Event and with Book Fair. Contact our Book Fair Chairs for more info.

Dinner, Dance, Auction

The Annual Auction is Unity School’s premier fundraiser of the year and promises to be a spectacular evening as we celebrate another year of success and camaraderie! The night features dinner, dancing, a spirited DJ, and silent & live auctions!  Many volunteers are needed to help prepare for this event by soliciting for ads and auction items, decorating the promo booth, selling raffle tickets, decorating the ballroom and setting up the silent auction room at the hotel the morning of the event. You can sign up for as little or as much as your time allows.

Field Day

Many parent volunteers are needed to encourage and supervise the children at each Field Day station.  Enjoy a day of fun with the children.  Please contact Sharon Gerry at x144 for more information.

Teacher Appreciation Breakfast

Participate in a wonderful breakfast to honor our teachers and staff for all of their efforts throughout the year. Room parents and other volunteers are needed in the classroom while teachers are enjoying their breakfast. Help needed with decorating cafeteria day before the event, morning set-up, serving and clean-up. All classrooms are asked to bring specific food items, cook/bake one of our themed signature dishes or make a cash donation for the Chairs to purchase the catered food items.

Lessons in Living

Recycle Uniform Sale

Volunteers are needed to assist with recycled uniform sales. Sale dates to be advised during the year.

Community Food Drive

Volunteers are needed to assist in counting donated food items and moving food donations from the classroom to the gazebo on Fridays.

Peace Day

Volunteers are needed to assist with classroom activities and/or projects leading up to Peace Day, as well as assistance on Peace Day.

Angel Tree

Volunteers are needed to assist with preparing Angels for the tree, signing Angel’s out from the tree, gift check-in, sorting & packing gifts, and delivering to various groups within the community.

Care and Support Team

Volunteers are needed for the Care & Support Team. In each classroom, Care and Support representatives help to organize outreach efforts within the classroom as needed. Classroom representatives might not be called upon during the school year, yet, “being on call” and “ready as needed” is an important function of the Care and Support process.

Year Round Initiatives

Annual Giving Committee

Through your generosity, the Annual Fund assures that our children are provided with exemplary programs including Lessons in Living, Drama, Athletics and Art.  Volunteers from each class are chosen to educate their fellow parents as to the purpose of Annual Giving so we can unite in shared values to build our school community.

Art Department

Volunteers can help in a variety of ways in the Art Department:

  • Commit to volunteer in one or more classes every week.  (Cannot be your child’s class).
  • Assist students in classroom with their projects. Share the time slot with another volunteer, trading off from week to week.
  • Help with ART DISPLAYS at various Unity Events: Grandparents Day, Delray Beach Library and Spring Art Display.  Select art, put into pre-cut mats, organize art by class and place art on the display panels for the event.
  • Help with ART DISPLAYS year-round around campus: Change out art in the ALEC Lobby, 2nd floor hallway, Art room and in outdoor hallway display cases.
  • Assist in seeking out neighborhood businesses who might want to display Unity students’ artwork.

Library Projects

Volunteers needed to help with ongoing library projects throughout the year.

Music Department

Volunteers needed for school concerts throughout the year.  Parents assist in moving equipment and organizing the students during dress rehearsals and concerts.
