Beyond The Classroom

Every year our 6th graders look forward to an amazing adventure in the water for their end of the year trip.  This year they are going to Marine Lab which is located on Largo Sound in Key Largo.
Three days and two nights of snorkeling, boating, swimming and learning about life under the sea.  Coral reef ecology, seagrass and mangrove ecology, identification of reef fish, and zooplankton are just a few of the things they will be exploring.
It’s a wonderful trip that helps bond the group and creates lifelong memories!

Leadership, team building, and communication.  These are the skills that the 7th graders develop on their class trip to Circle F Dude Ranch in Lake Wales, Florida.  The students begin their experience completing activities and tasks that require them to work together.  They quickly realize that it is important to listen to each other, be respectful of opinions, and communicate effectively in order to complete the tasks.  Students also learn to conquer their fears.  They are encouraged to climb a 60 foot alpine tower, a 40 foot rock wall as well as take flight on a  zipline.  They rely on each other for support and encouragement throughout.  It is a wonderful time, and our students are now ready to be 8th grade leaders.
